Supplimentary FAQs

Candidates may apply for re-checking or re-marking of examination answer scripts immediately after receiving their results. The closing date for applications is Wednesday, 21 January 2015. Application forms are available from schools or examination centres. Fees are R18 for re-checking, R80 for re-marking, and R160 for viewing a script (viewing is only allowed after re-checking and re-marking). Candidates from no-fee schools or those granted a fee concession are exempted from these fees.

Candidates who qualify for a supplementary examination can register at the centres where they sat for the examination immediately after receiving their results. The closing date for registration is Wednesday, 21 January 2015.

Eligible candidates include:
1. Those who require a maximum of two subjects to obtain the National Senior Certificate (NSC).
2. Candidates who could not sit or complete the examination due to medical reasons, a death in the immediate family, or other special reasons, provided documentary evidence is submitted.
3. Candidates one requirement short of meeting higher education or specific occupational requirements, with documentary evidence provided.

If candidates meet the requirements, they can download the supplementary examination timetable from the Limpopo Department of Education website and begin preparations immediately.

Candidates who do not qualify for supplementary exams and are under 21 can re-enrol at a school to rewrite their Grade 12 NSC. Those over 21 should register as part-time candidates or enrol at Adult Education Centres, which offer free programs for incomplete formal schooling. Additionally, candidates can explore vocational training at one of South Africa’s 50 public Further Education and Training (FET) Colleges, offering courses for Grade 9 pass holders or higher, including NATED courses leading to artisan qualifications.
